The mentoring program is designed to make a connection between current student veterans and incoming student veterans. We know that, for veterans, there are a wide array of concerns and needs that come with going back to college (especially the 5th largest in the nation!), so we are dedicated to using the knowledge and experience we have at our group's disposal to better the experience of those who will follow.

On the request form, incoming veterans are asked to list their specific concerns and/or needs and what qualities they expect their mentors to have. Once that form is received, we do our best to match the incoming veteran with a mentor who has experience with that specific need. The mentorship is designed to last throughout the incoming veteran's first semester at the university. We feel confident that this program will prove to be effective in raising the success rate of veterans at UT.
